Joe is a fourth-generation Colorado native. After graduating from the University of New Mexico, Joe played three years of minor league baseball with the Colorado Rockies before returning the Colorado to pursue his law degree from the University of Colorado School of Law. During law school, Joe worked as an intern at the EPA Region 8 Enforcement Office in Denver and was a research fellow under professor William Pizzi.
After obtaining his J.D. in the spring of 2009, Joe worked as an associate attorney for McKenzie, Rhody & Hearn, LLC, a boutique civil litigation firm representing homeowners in complex construction defect actions. In addition to his litigation experience, Joe also worked as a contract landman for a major oil and gas company performing title curative in the Bakken formation in North Dakota.
Joe joined Carleton Gotlin Law PC in January 2011.
